Win A Can Of Vegetarian Haggis

The haggis is a traditional Scottish dish memorialized as the national dish of Scotland by Robert Burns’ poem Address to a Haggis in 1787.

According to Wikipedia it has been illegal (Since 1971 ) to import haggis into the US from the UK due to a ban on food containing sheep lung. I’m not sure if this is true though because I’m pretty sure you can still buy it worldwide.

I’m not going to lie. Animal activism aside the whole dish sounds absolutely revolting HOWEVER some of you die-hard traditionalists and Haggis lovers are in for a treat (or at least a laugh) because yesterday at the Hardware Store right next to the Marmite (what? I know) was a can of scrumptious (as scrumptious as canned vegetarian sheep innards can be I’m sure) vegetarian Haggis.

.

For a chance to win the canned Veggie Haggis, send me the recipe for a veganized version of one of your favourite traditional dishes and what it means to you or your family. Submissions are to be sent to admin (at) sweetvegan (dot) net

I will announce the winner and post his or her recipe on Sweet Vegan next Friday. Good luck everybody!
