I’m trying to cut back on store bought toiletries and cosmetics, as much as I can these days. I often buy coconut body lotion from the health food store and two of my three daughters use straight coconut oil as a moisturizer, make-up remover, and hair conditioner, so I thought I’d give it a try.

This creamy whipped homemade coconut lotion smells amazing and feels so luxurious on even the driest of skin.

Best of all, it calls for only 3 ingredients and only takes about 5 minutes to make

2/3 cup coconut oil (solid)

15 drops of your favourite smelling Essential Oils
(I used lavender but I think I’ll try something that compliments the coconut smell more next time)

1/3 cup aloe vera gel (I have instructions on how to make aloe gel HERE, but you can purchase the gel in bottles or jars if you can’t or would rather not buy it fresh)

Place solid coconut oil, aloe gel, and essential oils in bullet, blender, or food processor for a few minutes or until you see the that the coconut oil well combined with the aloe and thick enough to form peaks. Store in a jar below 75 degrees to prevent melting.
